Kristin’s research brings together linguistics, writing studies, and secondary English education. Kristin is especially interested in how students’ and teachers’ language ideologies impact their teaching, learning, and writing.

Kristin is an Assistant Professor of English at Hope College in Holland, MI. She has been teaching writing and literature for more than 15 years.

Kristin lives in Grand Rapids, MI with her husband and two children. She spends her days reading, writing, cooking, and traveling as often as she can.
