Kristin is an Assistant Professor of English at Hope College in Holland, MI where she teaches first-year writing, interdisciplinary courses in the humanities, professional writing, and secondary English education courses.

Before teaching at Hope, Kristin taught literature at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI and first-year writing at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Kristin began her career in the 9-12 ELA classroom, teaching for nine years before beginning her doctoral work.

Kristin enjoys teaching writing, creative nonfiction, and English education methods courses. She is consistently impressed by her students’ energy and thoughtfulness.
